Direct Energy Supports Fort McMurray

May 4, 2016 - Direct Energy has an unwavering commitment to Alberta, and stands by the residents of Fort McMurray and area during this devastating time. We extend our deepest sympathies to those impacted by the wildfires, and our gratitude to the emergency response workers from across Canada who have come to help.

We want to assure our customers in the Fort McMurray area that they have our enduring support.

Direct Energy is making an initial donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the immediate relief effort in the Fort McMurray area, and will continue working with our customers and the community in the months to come.

As Albertans, we are here for each other and we commit that our actions will be guided by the best interests of the residents of Fort McMurray.

For evacuated customers, Direct Energy has:

  • Suspended all billing and collections activity
  • Waived all late payment fees during this time
