Direct Energy Hosts “Dance-for-Miracles”, benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Levy Park

On Saturday, June 8, Direct Energy hosted “Dance-for-Miracles,” an event that brought together the Houston community to celebrate summer with children’s crafts, sweepstakes, food trucks and dancing to help raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMNH).

Direct Energy donated $3,000 to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, for the three hours that attendees participated in event activities. This donation was in addition to the several other ways Direct Energy supports CMNH and Texas Children’s. Last December, Direct Energy launched the Give Brighter Miracles 12 plan where the company will donate $50 to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for every customer that enrolls in the plan.

“We are so pleased to support the Houston community and Texas Children’s Hospital through Dance for Miracles,” said Bruce Stewart, President of Direct Energy Home. “Hospitals are a cornerstone to any community, and Texas Children’s is close to our hearts especially with our North American headquarters based in Houston. Beyond the numerous hours our employees volunteer at Texas Children’s Hospital, we have donated $4 million for the new heart center at the hospital.”

“Direct Energy’s generous support means so much to our patients and families,” said Virginia Tomlinson, Senior Director of Philanthropy at Texas Children’s. “We are so grateful for their continued commitment to our hospital through numerous events, fundraisers and dedicated volunteer efforts.”

Dance-for-Miracles was a combined effort with Levy Park, one of Houston’s newest parks located just a few blocks from the Direct Energy offices. Direct Energy is a proud sponsor of Levy Park’s complimentary Wi-Fi annually, so visitors can stay connected and share their moments while enjoying park festivities.
