International Women's Day 2020

In honor of International Women’s Day, we celebrate our employees that demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting #EachforEqual.

Joyce Jones, Analyst of Regulatory Licensing & Reporting, is empowering women through numerous avenues. Her current focus is promoting educational programs through the Greater Houston Women Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC), where she has served as Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the past 4 years. Her primary role on GHWCC’S Education Committee is serving as Chair for the scholarship program. She is grateful for the opportunity to help students go to college to further their education.

Through the committee, she has the privilege of working with the STEAM Town USA program, an after‐school program that seeks to increase exposure of third grade girls to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). There, she helps with judging at the end of the school term and is amazed to see what the third-grade girls have learned. Over 600 girls from around Houston have graduated from the program since its inception.

She’s also involved with GHWCC’s job shadowing program, Love What You Do, and she recently worked with the MBA programs at the University of Houston and Rice University to launch a mentor program.

In 2019, Joyce was honored by The Lawrence E. Jackson, II Foundation  with the “Community Outreach”  award for her over 10 years of work helping students prepare for college and job interviewing. She is one of the founding members of the organization and has served on the board for 8 years.

Joyce also volunteers at My Brother’s Keeper, an initiative that aims to address inequitable conditions faced by our city's youth, particularly boys and young men of color.  She works with the “Healthy Eating Program” at the Houston Food Bank and she is an active member of Centrica’s BOLD Network and Houston’s Women in Energy Chapter.

She is an excellent representative of our company and we are proud of her commitment to making a positive difference for women in our community.
